Sherwin-Williams vs Benjamin Moore: Which We Spec and Why
Both are excellent. Here's how we pick between Emerald, Duration, Aura, and Regal Select on real projects.
Sherwin-Williams Emerald and Benjamin Moore Aura are the flagship interior lines — both self-priming, washable, and color-stable. Aura has a slight edge on deep saturated colors. Emerald levels out slightly better with a roller.
For exteriors: Sherwin Emerald Rain Refresh sheds rain stains in our humid markets. Benjamin Moore Aura Exterior holds up better against UV. We spec by climate, not brand loyalty.
