fence staining
Fence Painting & Staining
Solid, semi-transparent, or transparent finishes on cedar, pine, and pressure-treated fencing.

About fence painting & staining
A well-stained fence is a 10-year decision; a poorly stained fence is a 2-year do-over. The difference is prep — clean wood, dry wood, and the right stain for the species.
Our fence crews handle cedar, pine, redwood, and pressure-treated lumber. We pressure-wash, brighten, and spray or brush-apply premium stain that protects the wood from UV and moisture.
What's included
- Pressure-wash with fence-safe cleaner
- Brighten and neutralize to restore color
- Replace popped fasteners; tighten loose boards (extra for board replacement)
- Mask adjacent landscaping, hardscape, and structures
- Spray-apply with back-brush to drive stain into grain
- Treat both sides where access allows
- Final walkthrough and warranty
Our process
- 1
Free in-home estimate
A senior estimator walks the project with you, measures the scope, and returns an itemized fixed-price quote — usually within 24 hours.
- 2
Surface prep
We patch, sand, caulk, and prime every surface to the manufacturer's spec. Prep is what makes a finish last — we don't cut it short.
- 3
Premium application
Two finish coats of Sherwin-Williams Emerald or Benjamin Moore Aura, applied by master painters using sprayers, brushes, and rollers matched to each surface.
- 4
Walkthrough & warranty
You inspect the finished work alongside the crew lead. Anything you flag gets touched up on the spot — then your 10-year workmanship warranty kicks in.
Why homeowners choose us
Spray + back-brush
We spray for speed and coverage, then back-brush every board to drive stain into the grain. This is what makes a fence stain last.
Right stain for your wood
Cedar and redwood get different stains than pine or PT lumber. We spec the right product for what you have.
Property-line coordination
We can talk to your neighbor about staining their side too — usually for a small additional cost.

Frequently asked questions
+Should I do both sides?
If you can access the back side, yes — single-sided stain has half the service life. We coordinate with neighbors when access requires it.
+Can you stain a brand-new fence?
Pressure-treated lumber needs 3–6 months to dry before stain. Cedar and redwood can usually be stained within 2–4 weeks.
+What about gates and posts?
Gates, posts, and lattice are included in the linear-foot pricing. We treat the whole fence as one finish.
+What's included in the warranty?
Every job carries our 10-year workmanship warranty. If the finish peels, blisters, or cracks within ten years, we return and re-coat the affected area at no charge.
+What paints do you use?
Sherwin-Williams Emerald and Benjamin Moore Aura by default. Zero-VOC alternatives (Natura, Harmony) are available at no upcharge.
+Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — fully licensed in every state we serve, with $2M general liability and workers' comp on every crew.
